I must say that this is one of the best hosting companies I have ever worked with. They were quick with any question I had and helped me in every way. I was kind of skeptical since it looked like too good of a deal but ti worked out. I did have to cancel my account, due to some personal issues and not having time in college to handle a website but will most likely come back later. They canceled my account in a few minutes and didn't make it too hard at all just asked some reasonable questions. I would definitely recommend them. All hosting sites offer the same but customer service is what I really needed and this place has it, thanx and people just try it they do keep to their 30 day money back guarantee.

I've had a few hiccups with Host Monster but they have helped me quite a bit along the way so I'm pretty happy. There price is what made me sign up and they have a good reputation on the net.

Host Monster is a reliable host. I've been with them for 4 months after I was recommended by my web designer and so far they have been okay. I have only been down one time and it was pretty short so i was not affected. The space and bandwidth is okay too. I like Host Monster support though, they respond very quick :)

Host Monster rocks! Blue Host and Host Monster are the same company but Host Monster support is the best. They helped me get my database back online after I was messing around with it!

Very good hosting and prices. Host Monster was recommended by two friends and I am very happy to be with them myself. They have the best support when it comes to hosting questions and help.

I host a few of my sites on HostMonster (they are personal, but I will send you the link of it to test the speed of the site upon request). I can tell you that HostMonster has had great uptime, and I honestly cannot remember the last time I was down in the 8 months I have been with them. Their support is top-notch when I do use it (I rarely have to use it, since I don't require that much support), and they are professional and courteous (both on the telephone and online when I spoke to HostMonster Support). As stated, BlueHost is essentially the same company as HostMonster, but I chose HostMonster for its offers at a price that I couldn't get from BlueHost. I am a very pleased customer with HostMonster, and I highly recommend them! The only drawback I can think of is the fact that they only allow a maximum of 100 MySQL Databases to be created. The downside to that is you can't get any more than that, and you can't even opt to pay to get more. However, I am not even close to using 100 MySQL Databases, so there's no problem there.

Had very bad experience with Yahoo for a few days with absolutely no email services for the whole company. Tech support was a joke and never worked out. (See my review on Yahoo in this site). So, finally we switched to HostMonster. They are awesome compared to Yahoo. Signed up at 2:00pm and got everything working at 6:00pm, including emails. We were so happy that we can start working with emails again. Customers were calling us last few days asking why emails were all bounced back. It was a big relieve that it works again. The down side of HostMonster is the limit on emails. Only 10MB attachment per email. That may not be a big problem. The more serious problem is only 500 maximum emails per hour for the whole domain, not per user. Moreover, each recipient is considered as one email. Talked to HostMonster several times but they don't want to change anything. Fortunately, we only have about 25 email accounts. So, on average each user can send to 20 recipients an hour (probably about 5 to 10 emails). That's still not too bad. However, if your big company havs 250 email users, they may be only able to send 1 to 2 email per hour. So, if your company has a lot of email users, talk to HostMonster first to see if there is a solution before signing up.

I've recently moved to Hostmonster from my old provider for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I needed Ruby on Rails hosting, secondly the price. I'm pretty sure that they are the cheapest out there at the moment, in particular for Rails. I'll divide the review into topics. Obviously they have rails hosting. Haven't tested it enough for speed but it seems to be ok. Unfortunately there aren't many Gems installed. You need ssh access to work with it which they provide, but you need to send a scan of your drivers license. It would seem that, while you can be banned for attempting to snoop on other user's files, this might be possible via ssh, which isn't great. They have MySQL and Postgres databases which is nice too. CPanel evolution is used to manege the sites which is a fairly functional inteface. Other standard serverside technologies are there too. If you need here are instructions on how to setup your main domain to your rails folder on your Hostmosnter account. MMmmmmmm. At the time of writing, the average response time for my support requests has been about 4 days. Not great if you don't know what you're doing. Ruby on Rails support seems to be lacking too with insufficient info in the knowledgebase and it would seem, noone who really knows the technology in the support staff. For rails, the small tutorial provided only allows you to set up an application on a subdomain. Support were unable to give me any idea how to set up a rails app on the main domain. I eventually worked out a hack but I can't create any subdomains now. I inquired about why the delays where happening and they said that they were getting on new staff to deal with a backlog of requests. Hopefully this will improve over time. Downtime I haven't experienced the downtime that I have read about, well not yet anyway. Conclusion If you want a cheap host and don't need a lot of support then I don't see why Hostmonster wouldn't be on your list. They have a good breadth of technology. One of my main concerns is security. If you have code that you don't want anyone to see, I'd be a bit concerned, but I must admit I'll have to look into it more.

I recently switched over to Hostmonster because my previous host, a small Singapore company can't offer me the kind of space and bandwidth that Hostmonster offers. I give top marks to their customer service. I still cannot forget how tickets are responded to in under 30 minutes, and their LiveChat support response time is under 5 minutes. And, on the few occassions that I requested for support, the problems were generally fixed on the spot. So far, I had not experienced any downtime, although there were times when page loading seems a little slow. Overall, for the price that you pay ($3.95 a month if you pay upfront for at least 12 months, and they bundle in one free domain name as long as you stay with them), there really isn't much to complain about.

Today was the last straw for me. I have had hosting accounts and still have hosting accounts with 8-10 different hosting companies. I used bluehost for a long time. They were my favorite. Now my favorite is Hostmonster. Incidentally, they’re both owned by the same company. But my blog had been hosted with penguinhost.net (no link for you!). They were the first hosting account I ever had. However, I can’t handle them anymore. They’re nazis about hosting. Plus, today on the phone the dude talked to me like I was a total idiot and lied to me. He tried telling me that anyone who wants to can easily hack drupal 4.6.3 and gain access to your hosting account. That’s just blatantly not true. They want me to upgrade every piece of software I have on the account, which just isn’t going to happen. So, I cancelled the account. Today I moved my blog and my family site (I know…I know…it’s not much of a family site) to one of my hostmonster accounts.

With seven sites on one account I was told by my first provider they could not support me and so I switched to Host Monster. I have had the best service and just like most of the comments about Host Monster I only have good things to say. Their reliability is 9 out of ten because I have an hour of downtime but this was at 10pm and it was a scheduled maintenance they told us about beforehand. The price is comparable and was not really important as the service is what my main concern is when finding new hosting. Overall Host Monster provides exactly what their website states and I already recommend them to friends.

Great support and service, Host Monster has been the hosting company I recommend to all my friends and family. Host Monster is owned by Bluehost I think and they are very reputable to so I was a little more confident when I chose Host Monster. Overall they are a very good hosting company.
